Extended Breeding

Adult melcey pups may form packs. A pack is required to have a minimum of three melcey pups. The ideal ratio of males to females is 1:1 (half male, half female), the second ideal being more females than males. A pack should never contain more males than females.

Name the pack something in relation to the lead melcey's theme. If your lead melcey of your new pack has a Sky theme, you'd name the pack something like Pack of the High Winds, or Pack of the Endless Stars, etc. Then, you must e-mail me with the pack's name and URL, so I can check it over and then list it on the Pack list page. A pack page should have the lists of the pack's members, including the pack members' e-mail, home URL, Theme, and ID number (look at the Parents List).

You may not display other peoples' melceys on a pack page or any other page. It is quite simply not a good idea to have other peoples' melcey images even if you have obtained permission. If you submit a pack with other peoples' melceys displayed on the members page, I will ask you to remove them, so don't do it in the first place and save yourself some time.

Melcey pups may join a pack as mates with another pup or singly. Pups that are full siblings cannot mate; it's your choice whether you're comfortable mating half siblings. Any melcey pup can breed, but it's usually more decorous for the pup to belong to a pack first, although it isn't necessary. One pup from an extended litter is given to each parent's owner, unless the person owns both parents and then they get one pup. The rest of the pups go up for adoption.

If you are interested in having a litter, check the bottom of the page. If it says "Extended Breedings are Open", it means you can sign. If it says "Extended Breedings are Closed", do not sign. ^_^

If there are openings, make sure you have the necessary information on hand. Then sign the litter application book. The information must be typed correctly, CLEAR and CONCISE, or your application will be discounted.

I want both ID's and names for the breeding pair and you MUST include the name of the pack the two melceys are in if they are in a pack. The form will be open for a considerable time period so take your time to do this correctly.

Melceys who are in packs have an advantage over melceys who are NOT in packs. What does this mean? It means that people who apply with melceys who are official pack members are more likely to have their application accepted. As I said before, pack membership is not necessary, but all else being equal a pair of pack member pups have more of a chance of getting a litter than two independant melceys.

If you do not have a melcey, you may not apply for an extended litter, even if you ask other people for permission to use their melceys. You must be a melcey owner already.

Melcey owners may not sign more than once for a breeding, the same breeding or otherwise. One pairing = one litter. One person = one entry. This is so I do not go insane. Make sure that your partner in the breeding hasn't signed already before going ahead. Extra dreambook entries to delete are not fun ^^;
