Carmors are similar to wolves in lifestyle. The will live together in groups of up to twenty or so individuals during the breeding season and when food is profuse, but will break up and live singly or in pairs during the off season and famine when it is easier to look out for ones' individual needs first.

Male carmors are extremely aggressive towards other males and will fight over females and territory. This characteristic has made the species a difficult one to domesticate, and since they are fairly intelligent, artificial control of their behavior is not an option. Given the right circumstances, however, males will cooperate.

Female carmors are more peaceful and will avoid fights. Some carmors are very protective mothers, while others are more careless, all depending on personality. Female carmors tolerate each other but they would take the company of a consort over another female. Carmors do not form permanent pairs. A female may switch from one male to another season to season. However, some females choose to stick with one male because he is consistently a good father.

A female will choose a male she deems as healthy, able, and responsible. A fight does not always prove a male's worth. What happens more often than you would think is some suave male woos a female while two other males are fighting it out only a short distance away, and gets the bride before the other two even know what's going on.

Females lay one or two eggs at a time. These are well developed on laying and will hatch only in a few more days, during which the females keeps them warm and does not leave the nest she makes for them on the ground. When the hatchlings are born, they are either taken and given out to adopters. If left with the parents the father and mother hunt to provide food for themselves and the babies.

Carmors raised by hand are definitely more docile and can be trained by their owners. Through special training on the part of the owner and the carmor, the dragon can be ridden for various purposes of transportation and in the case of sentry carmors, protection.
